Mission in Practice
Jesus Christ is the source, the focal point of all we are and do. To show our students how to live a life true to Catholic values of social justice and charity, we create opportunities for them to participate in mission programs and serve God and our community.
Our commitment to service is deeply rooted in our Mercy heritage—a long-standing tradition of Christian service and outreach to the community. Inspired by this legacy, students at St Mary’s are encouraged to live their faith through action. Programs such as Mini Vinnies and Caritas provide opportunities for students to engage in mission in action, raising awareness and funds for those in need. Through these experiences, they not only support others but also grow in character and live out the school values of justice, compassion, and outreach.
Caritas Australia is the Catholic Church’s international aid and development agency, which works to confront the challenges of poverty through locally-led programs. Caritas means ‘love’.
Mini Vinnies empowers primary school students to become advocates within their school and local community by putting their values into action.
